light vs dark

8
why is it that it may seem like lighter blacks are treated better than darker ones? this problem dates back to a time of slavery when the light black would usually be a house slave and the dark one a field negro. this fued between light and dark blacks started because the house slaves taught themselves to be better then the field slaves because they were treated better then they were. like in my previous blog where i compared slaves to people of today it is also likely that the lighter black today would be the one I compared to the house negro in the post before. they are treated better so they are more likely to get the better job. the field negro worked hard long hours like the darker less fortunate blacks of today. why is it it so you ask? simply because the state of america today and its racism and colorism

the house and the field

Does the concept of what a house niggers and field Negros are still exist in today’s world. Yes. In modern day America, a world plagued by mental slavery, the most common example of a house nigger would be best described as a black person who loves living among Caucasians and Doesn`t like to fraternize with other people of African descent. In some very serious cases of confusion this African American would try to claim a white lineage, and would do anything not to be referred to in the same regards as other blacks even successful ones unless they themselves were victims of this plague. however the modern day version of a field negro would be the majority of struggling blacks in low income jobs like teachers, janitors, and everything else that pays less than $35,000 a year and just like house and field negros they really don't like each other.

the seeds and fruit of racism

why is racism such a big problem in a supposed to be post racist america. well the answer to this question is simple it is not post racist actually if anything it is growing more racist then before.
one of the problems you encounter in a racist america is, if a white woman is walking out on the street one late night and turns around to see a tall big black man with sweats on walking a distance behind her she assumes he is a criminal, "maybe a mugger" but if this was a white man she might not think much of it. she might think he is just coming from a late night of work like her.now on the other hand if this was a black woman and she saw a man following her no matter what color he was she would be afraid. what i want is not for a woman not to be afraid if she saw someone behind her, but to not assume he is a criminal because he is black. now i am not saying the man was not a criminal the possibilty exist but the woman was a criminal guilty of racism.

visions of the past

why is history important? why is it important to know that some peoples ancestors were slaves and some were slave owners? why would someone want to think about things that are so painful? well I believe if you don't know your history especially slavery and how it happened that some day the world could regress to slavery, cruelty, and inequality. It is important that we as a people educate ourselves on the history of these beautiful states we live in, but also not to remain ignorant of the history of others for one day it could be important to know about a countries past. e.g. it might have helped America if we had known more about the history of other nations of the world maybe even serious tragic events in our past could have been avoided just by having a little knowledge about the history and customs of others wars could have been stopped or even acts of terrorism avoided. So my fellow African Americans rejoice in opportunities to learn about your brothers and sisters whose names are long forgotten, that gave everything to make America the place it is today, but don't think it is over. Their is one thing we have to do that they did not have the chance to. we have to make America and the whole world know that we have risen up to a challenge and we will be the leaders for generations to come but not because we seek revenge for years of abuse, but because we seek to create the peaceful world others could not. We seek to make the earth the place god intended it to be a peaceful kind world run by trust and respect not fear and tyranny

this was supposed to be my third blog lol oh well read on my followers

being black

for years many people have tried to define what it is to be black, but nobody will ever really be able to fully describe what it means to be black because black people are so versatile. if you looked around the world you would find; the best actors, the best lawyers, best barbers, best athletes just the best at everything they do. So why is it that people tend to think that being black is bad, well that's because the few bad eggs in the bunch. that's like saying all Arabs are terrorist , or all German Nazis. so you see it is foolish to think that because some people of a race act a certain way that they are all like that. because if that where true then everyone in the world would act the same exact way and their would be no such thing as war or violence the world would be peaceful because people would always agree cause they are the same. but that is not the case and every person is different and thank the lord we are.

the magic of black music,or maybe just the magic of music.

Why is it that everywhere I go I always hear people talking about what black and white music is. Is it just me, am i the only one who has noticed that today in america people of different races listen to all forms of music. "just yesterday i ran into one of my caucasian friends professor Unger, but this was no regular encounter, for Unger was singing wade in the water when i asked why he was singing that paticular song he said to me because he like how it sounds. now professor Unger is an educated scholar some may say and because of that he is not a good example of the general population. To those people i say this , white music is all and any form of music a white person would listen to or enjoy listening to. Black music is any form of music a black person would enjoy listening to. It is not so because the majority of a community likes it, NO! it is labeled so because some in a community like it and if Unger likes old black spirituals and i like rock, so is their really any type of music for a specific people. I surely dont think so i think music is for everyone no matter what kind of music it is, but thats for america to decide not the millions of people who think other wise

africans

what it means to be african and names for people of african descent in different regions has been a popular topic among many scholars and community activist for a long time. Kwame Ture, Gerald Early, and Shelby Steele are some just to name a few who have written of these and similar topics. So what can one howard university freshman say about any of the topics? well first and foremost i can tell you that refering to people of the same descent by different titles is not only ridiculus, but done to create difference. why some may ask well that is the easy question to answer. to put it simply because it is human nature to fear what is different to fear the unknown. and because europeans knew that people feared the unknown they created different names for people of color in different regions. In the carribean alone their exist jamaicans, dominicans, kitticians, and virgin islandese are some of many names given to africans in the carribean. what we all have to remember though is we are all africans. africans. africans. like kwame ture said in his work pan-africanism
